FOREX: A tight start to the Asia-Pacific session, with markets shut for holidays
in China, Taiwan and South Korea. G10 crosses have respected narrow ranges. CHF
outperforms at the margin, with the Antipodeans slightly lagging their peers.
- Little to no immediate reaction seen to the latest data prints out of New
Zealand. REINZ reported that house sales declined by 6.1% Y/Y, while BusinessNZ
m'fing PMI tally came in at 48.4 vs. the revised prior reading of 48.1.
- U.S. President Trump addresses the 2019 House Republican Conference at typing,
he noted that a tax cut for middle-income Americans will be announced sometime
in the next year. Earlier, Trump mentioned that he wants a full trade deal with
China, but would consider an interim accord.
- Later today, we will see the final reading of Japanese industrial output, as
well as retail sales & flash U. of Mich Sentiment out of the U.S, final Swedish
GDP and EZ trade balance. EU Finance Ministers touch down in Helsinki for a
two-day summit.
