A Touch Firmer & Flatter

AUSSIE BONDS

The futures curve sits flatter vs. Monday’s closing levels, with YM +1.0 & XM +5.0, aided by U.S. Tsys finding a base in early post-Sydney dealing. Domestic focus moves to the release of the latest Federal Budget, which will be handed down at ~19:30 Sydney/09:30 London. Although given the press leaks & pre-commitments from the government (as outlined yesterday), the market may be more interested in AOFM issuance details surrounding the budget (which will likely cross on Wednesday).

  • Looking to the domestic docket, retail sales data complements the release of the Budget.
