AG Garland: DoJ Will Disrupt Russian Criminal Efforts

US Attorney General Merrick Garland speaking currently in Washington, D.C., regarding enforcement actions against Russian individuals linked to the Putin gov't, as well as efforts to disrupt Russian cyber attacks and dark web activities.

• Garland says that the Department of Justice has engaged in disruption of botnet controlled by Russian security servies that had infected thousands of devices, "The Russian government has recently used similar infrastructure to attack Ukrainian targets,."
• Garland states that the DoJ will go after Russian oligarchs and their assets. "The Justice Dept sees what is happening in Ukraine. This Dept has a long history of holding accountable those who perpetrate war crimes. Today we are assisting international efforts to identify & hold accountable those perpetrating atrocities in Ukraine."
• Garland: "It does not matter how far you sail your yacht. It does not matter how well you conceal your assets. It does not matter how cleverly you write your malware...The Justice Department will use every available tool to find you, disrupt your plots, and hold you accountable."
