Alberta Wildfires Threaten 388k b/d of Oil Production: Bloomberg

Alberta’s out-of-control wildfires greater than 10 hectares in size are within 10km of around 388k b/d of oil production and 13.4 boe/d of gas output, Bloomberg said, citing government data.

  • Tamarack said that none of its active production sites are in the immediate vicinity of blazes. MEG also said that production levels have remained stable at its Christina Lake site.
  • Greenfire has also restored output at its Hangingstone site after cutting earlier production.
  • Altair said that it shut its Charlie oil and gas site.
  • Suncor did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment vis a vis its Firebag site, which cut production earlier in July.
