Alberta’s total oil production rebounded in February by 146.7kb/d to 3.95mb/d as extreme cold eases according to Alberta Energy Regulator data.

  • Production in February was the highest since December after production was hampered in January due to the cold causing the biggest monthly decline since April 2020.
  • Oil sands production, including upgraded output and excluding crude sent for further processing, increased 113.3kb/d to 3.34mb/d.
  • Conventional oil production rose from 508kb/d to 534kb/d.
