All Milestones Established With IMF Are Met: Guzman

ARGENTINA

The next IMF disbursements to Argentina will come as soon as the board approves the first revision of the agreement with the country, Economy Minister Martin Guzman told Radio Nacional, according to an official statement sent by text message.

  • All milestones established with the IMF are met; there haven’t been any mishaps, Guzman said
  • Earlier on Thursday the fund said that IMF staff and the Argentine authorities have agreed that the annual objectives established at approval of the arrangement will remain unchanged, specifically those related to the primary fiscal deficit, monetary financing, and net international reserves.
  • On inflation, Guzman said “March was the month of highest inflation, we hope, for the whole year”.
