Allocated Capacity Rises, Price Falls in JAO DE-BE Auction

More capacity was allocated in the latest CBC auctions for delivery in August on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) on the Germany-Belgium border compared to the previous month, with prices slightly edging down

  • In the Belgium-Germany direction, 140MW of offered capacity was allocated at €13.27/MWh for delivery in August.
  • In July for comparison, 139MW of the offered capacity of 140MW was allocated at €14.5/MWh.
  • In the opposite direction, 140MW went at €2.03/MWh for August compared to 139MW allocated at €2.12/MWh for July delivery.
  • Germany's August power base load closed at €69.66/MWh on 19 July – a €10.16/MWh premium to the Belgian market.
