Annual Disinflation Stalls In November

AUSTRIA

Disinflation in annual Austrian flash CPI and HICP stalled in November. Monthly flash NSA HICP fell 0.2pp vs October, while monthly CPI rose 0.1pp.

  • HICP is seen at 4.9% Y/Y and 0.2% M/M, while CPI printed at 5.4% Y/Y and 0.4% M/M.
  • The statistics office noted that energy base effects were "having much less of a dampening effect on general inflation than in previous months". Additionally, package holidays saw "significant increases in prices in November", suggesting upside risks to the monthly core estimate (which was not published).
