ANO Wins EU Vote, Prisaha and Motorists Take Third Place

- Ex-Prime Minister and business tycoon Andrej Babis and his party ANO won the European election with 26.1% of the vote, outperfoming the governing coalition Spolu, which secured 22.3%. In a surprising turn of events, the right-wing electoral alliance Prisaha and Motorists led by former racing driver Filip Turek secured a double-digit result, despite its lack of presence in the Czech parliament. The Pirate Party suffered a setback, winning just one MEP seat.
- The unemployment rate in the cohort aged 15-65 edged lower to 3.6% in May from 3.7% prior. The number of vacancies fell 1,529 to 266,517.
