AOFM Issuance Update 2023-24

AUSSIE BONDS

Following the release of the 2023-24 Federal Budget, the AOFM has provided guidance on the planned issuance of Australian Government Securities.

  • Based on Budget forecasts, issuance of Treasury Bonds in 2023-24 is expected to be around $75 billion. Issuance of Treasury Indexed Bonds is anticipated to be between $2 and $4 billion.
  • In 2022-23, issuance of Treasury Bonds will be around A$80 billion versus A$95bn announced in the October Budget 2022-23 update. Treasury Indexed Bond issuance will be around $2.2 billion.
  • The AOFM will remain active in the Treasury Note market with regular issuance for cash management purposes.
  • Details of weekly transactions will continue to be announced at midday on the preceding Friday.
