DOLLAR-YEN: As traders reported of continued light volumes overnight,
consolidation remained the theme held to a narrow Y113.43-58 range. On the
downside support is seen at Y113.24/08 (Dec11, Dec8 lows). Resistance at
Y113.69/77 (Dec11 high, 1.618% swing Y113.09-111.99).
* Main event risk on the US calendar today at 1330GMT from the latest PPI data.
Final demand PPI is expected to rise 0.3% in November after 0.4% increases in
the previous two months.
* The Redbook Retail Sales Index is set for release at 1355GMT, followed by the
Kansas City Fed LMCI at 1600GMT.
* Late US data sees the Treasury Budget published at 1900GMT. The Treasury is
expected to post a $132.0 billion budget gap in November, down slightly from the
$136.7 billion gap in November 2016.
* Option-expiries today at Y112.00($449mn), Y112.25($380mn), Y113.45-50($376mn),
Y114.17($308mn).
