DOLLAR-YEN: Asia markets witnessed an improved risk tone overnight after a
balanced speech from Chinese President Xi that promoted global multilateral free
trade, while any criticism of the US was indirect. Cross yen (Aud-Jpy/Eur/Jpy)
supported to Y107.24, before Japanese exporter supply through Y107.30/50
countered. Usd-Jpy last Y107.13. US PPI kicks things off on the US calendar
today at 1230GMT, PPI is expected to increase 0.1% in March after a 0.2% gain in
February. Wholesale trade figures follow at 1400GMT. March wholesale inventories
grew at 0.8% compared to sales which declined 1.1%.
Option expiries: Y106.00($610mn), Y106.25($650mn), Y106.49-50($633mn),
Y107.35($310mn), Y107.50($344mn).
