Asian and European LNG Imports Drop in Feb

Europe's LNG imports are expected to drop to 10.49m tonnes in February, down from 12.49m in January and a record high of 13.44m in December according to Kpler data.

  • China’s LNG imports are expected to be seasonally lower at about 4.47m tonnes but also down from 4.95m tonnes in February 2022. Imports were 6.12m in January and 7.28m in December.
  • The spot LNG price for delivery to north Asia dropped to the weakest since August 2021 at 17 $/mmBtu last week due to a drop in demand from China and from Europe.
