STOCKS: Asian indices moved higher on Wednesday, with Japanese markets closed as
the country observes a holiday. The energy sector was the outperformer, charging
higher following Tuesday's oil rally.
- The telecoms sector lagged in Hong Kong as the Hang Seng added 1.1%, while
mainland shares also moved higher, with the CSI 300 0.6% better off.
- Australia's ASX 200 added 0.25% with the materials sector treading higher,
while telecoms & real estate names lagged.
- US equity index futures managed to record ever-so modest gains overnight.
