AUD: AUDUSD Hovering Around 65c, RBA’s Bullock Speaks Later

AUDUSD has broken above 65c a number of times during APAC trading today but tends to revert back to around that level. The pair is currently little changed at 0.6500 after a high of 0.6509. There are few drivers with both equities and commodities mixed and Q3 capex close to consensus. The USD index is off its intraday high to be down slightly on the day.

  • RBA Governor Bullock speaks at the CEDA conference at 1955 AEDT.
  • AUDJPY is up 0.4% 98.53 today after falling over the last few sessions. Aussie has not moved materially against other major currencies with AUDNZD up 0.1% to 1.1031, close to the intraday high, AUDEUR is 0.2% higher at 0.6159 and AUDGBP +0.1% to 0.5131.
  • Equities are mixed with the ASX up 0.7% but Hang Seng down 1.1%. The S&P e-mini is 0.1% higher. Oil prices are slightly lower at $68.68/bbl. Copper is up 0.3% and iron ore is just under $104/t.
  • The US is closed for Thanksgiving. ECB’s Lane and Elderson speak. On the data front, there are preliminary Spanish/German November CPIs, November Euro Commission survey and October euro area M3/lending.
