AUD Lags In Muted Trade

The Australian dollar has slipped in a quiet start to the Asia-Pac session, with participants awaiting an address from RBA Gov Lowe as well as local housing price data and NAB Business Confidence survey.

  • USD and JPY sit atop the G10 pile despite a positive start for most regional equity benchmarks outside of Australia. AUD/JPY has faltered but remains comfortably within yesterday's range.
  • U.S. CPI provides the main point of note on today's data docket, with UK labour market data also due. In addition to remarks from RBA's Lowe, BoE's Bailey is also set to speak.
