AUSSIE: AUDUSD has trimmed some of its early losses, last 10 pips lower at
$0.7468, after printing a low of $0.7453 overnight, with talk of corporate bids
surrounding $0.7450.
- RBA's Ellis offered little in the way of fresh insight re: MonPol.
- The AUD had been dented by media reports noting that the US is ready to slap
tariffs on $50bln worth of Chinese goods, although this isn't particularly new
it was enough to weigh on risk appetite, particularly when coupled with WSJ
reports suggesting that China is ready to retaliate to the tariffs.
- Support is noted at $0.7445 (the low from May 15), followed by $0.7410 (The
YtD low from May 9).
- Nearby notable FX option expiries of note for today's 10AM NY cut: $0.7675-76
(A$709mln)
