ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY has climbed 6 pips, landing at Y74.51. The Nikkei 225
futures suggest that the index will take the cue from U.S. stocks and open on a
back foot.
- Yesterday's was a two-halves session. Stronger than forecast Australian CPI
figures put an early bid into the pair, lifting it to just shy of Y74.90.
However, the less-dovish-than-expected monetary policy decision from the FOMC
triggered flight to safety, sapping strength from high-beta FX.
- Bears look for a dip below the channel support at Y74.37, which would expose
the Jun 18 cycle low of Y73.93. On the topside, attention is drawn to the Y75.00
mark.
