ASIAN MARKETS, AUSSIE-YEN
AUSSIE-YEN: AUD/JPY last sits at Y81.95, a touch lower on the day after climbing
over 30 pips Monday.
- Yesterday, AUD/JPY climbed to session highs at Y82.39 as the two sides of the
rate found themselves on opposite ends of the G10 pile in the London morning.
However, the pair subsequently erased most of earlier gains as AUD strength
faded away with recovery rallies in commodities remaining shallow and WTO
figures suggesting global goods trade will lose further momentum in Q4 this
year.
- The Nikkei 225 has posted marginal gains today, while U.S. equity index
futures are in the red.
- Bears look to a clean break below the 21-DMA at Y81.85 before shifting focus
to Monday's intraday low at Y81.59. Conversely, bulls need to jump back onto the
Y82.00 handle before challenging yesterday's peak at Y82.39.
