Austria Release Refined Products from Reserves

OIL PRODUCTS

Austria will release 18 million litres of gasoline and 29 million litres of diesel via OMV to prevent fuel shortages after an incident at OMV’s Schwechat refinery according to the Austrian government over the weekend.

  • "Despite the incident at OMV's Austrian refinery fuel supply is assured," according to the Minister of Technology and Innovation Laszlo Palkovics.
  • The fuel release is expected to bridge supply shortages until the refinery is fixed.
