Austria’s Burgenland, Borealis Enter 10-year Solar, Wind PPA

Austrian wind and solar producer Burgenland Energie has signed a 10-year PPA with European chemical company Borealis for renewable power from its hybrid park in Austria, according to Borealis.

  • Burgenland will supply 70 GWh/yr of wind & solar power to Borealis’s sites in Austria, with first deliveries starting in January 2026.
  • EU PPA prices increased to €49.82/MWh on 20 May from €48.99/MWh on 17 May. This is the highest EU PPA prices have been since 16 April, according to latest data from energy pricing firm Pexapark.
  • Solar PPA prices climbed 1.8% on the day, with offshore and onshore PPAs up 3.1% and 2.17%, respectively.
