Baltic Pipe Set for October 1 Start

Leaks on the Nord Stream pipelines will not impact the start of the gas flows on the new Baltic Pipe that is set to flow from October 1 according to Polish officials.

  • "The circumstances of leaks on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 are being investigated by dedicated agencies in Poland, Denmark, Germany and Sweden," officials said.
  • The Baltic Pipe was officially opened via a ceremony the same day the Nord Stream pipelines were attacked.
  • The new pipeline has an annual capacity of10 billion cubic meters per year and is designed as a way for Poland to move away from Norwegian flows.
