CANADA: -Bank regulator raises "Domestic Stability Buffer" for large banks to
2.25% of risk weighted assets, from 2% in June, as risks remain elevated & some
rising.
-"Vulnerabilities include Canadian household indebtedness, asset imbalances and
institutional indebtedness," OSFI says Tuesday in statement. "Global
vulnerabilities related to ongoing trade tensions and rising leverage are
growing, which could increase the chance of a spillover of external risks into
the Canadian financial system."
-Buffer ranges from 0%-2.5%, and was set at 1.5% in June 2018.
