Banxico Governor Due To Speak, USDMXN Consolidates Below 20.00

  • Mexico’s benchmark S&P/BMV IPC stock index climbed to another all-time high on Tuesday, tracking gains in U.S. stocks amid optimism for progress in talks between Russia and Ukraine.
    • The index rose as much as 1.1% to an intraday high of 56,276.39 and posted a record close of 56,147.21, up 0.8%.
  • The Mexican peso continues to trade on the front foot with USDMXN consolidating recent losses below 20.00 throughout Wednesday trade.
  • Mexico’s private capital association AMEXCAP will hold the second day of its 2022 summit with central bank Governor Victoria Rodriguez among scheduled speakers. The Central bank Governor is due to speak at 5:45pm Mexico City time.
