BCB Focus Survey/Economic Activity Due

  • Central Bank Governor Campos Neto on the wires this morning, reiterating there has been electricity and fuel inflation shocks. The BCB head added that the perception of Brazil is to improve with growth.
  • Central bank releases Focus survey, with analysts' estimates for GDP, FX, inflation and Selic rate, on its website at 1125GMT/0625ET.
  • Central bank's economic activity index known as IBC-Br is estimated to have fallen by 0.30% in September on a monthly comparison, after falling by 0.15% in prior reading. Considered a monthly proxy for Brazil's Gross Domestic Product the data is due at the top of the hour:
    • 1200GMT/0700ET: Sept. Economic Activity MoM, est. -0.30%, prior -0.15%
    • 1200GMT/0700ET: Sept. Economic Activity YoY, est. 1.80%, prior 4.74%
