Belarus' Lukashenko: 'I May Have Remained President For A Little Too Long'

Wires reporting a story from Russian news agencies that in a television interview Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that he 'may have remained as president for a little too long'.

  • The supposed comment comes as mass protests against his gov't continue on the streets of Minsk, and the authorities come under increasing scrutiny for the detention of opposition leader Maria Kolesnikova in the early hours of this morning as she supposedly attempted to cross the border. Ukrainian reports state that Kolesnikova destroyed her Belarusian passport in order to prevent her forcible expulsion from Belarus.
