ENERGY

Hurricane Beryl in the Atlantic has become the earliest ever Category 5 storm for a hurricane season, with the system now heading to Jamaica.

  • This season is forecast to have above normal levels of activity in the Atlantic, highlighted by the severity of Beryl at this point in the year. Hurricanes typically develop in the later months of the season rather than in July.
