Cable hovers near the low of the day, mostly driven by the USD.

  • UK Holiday today, will likely keep turnovers on the lighter side.
  • Focus this week will likely be on BoE speakers, with BOE's Bailey, Bowe, Brazier, Ramsden and Vlieghe on Wednesday, appearing before Treasury Committee.
  • Ben Broadbent and Andy Haldane: 2020 Annual Meeting of the CB Research Association are also due Wednesday.
  • In terms of data, we get Manufacturing, Service and Composite PMIs, but these will be final reading, so more focus on the construction PMI due Friday.
  • In terms of risks, Covid and Brexit remains at the forefront, with the UK cases having its biggest increase since early June, and with School set to return this week.
  • Regarding Brexit, the Times reported that Lord Frost will recommend, "Britain leaves without a trade deal unless Brussels drops demands the UK continue to align with its rules on state aid."
