Biden: Its Time For House Republicans To Start Doing Their Job

President Biden, speaking at the White House on today's jobs report, has called on House Republicans to stop "fooling around" and work to prevent a government shutdown on November 17.

• Biden: "House Republicans shouldn't put us back into crisis mode again. We have only 40 days for Congress to get back to work... to fund the government, avoid a shutdown, and protect the tremendous gains American workers have made over the past two and a half years."
• Biden: "Shutdown would mean troops don't get paid, air traffic controllers don't get paid, all kinds of issues at airports, loans to small businesses would be delayed... its time to stop fooling around. House Republicans its time for you to start doing your jobs."
• On if Biden could work with House Freedom Caucus founding member, Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH), who was endorsed by former President Trump yesterday, if he should be elected speaker: "Whomever the House Speaker is I'm gonna try to work with - they control half the Congress... Some people I imagine will be easier to work with than others..."
• On the prospect of meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the margins of November's APEC Summit in San Francisco: "There's no such meeting set up but it is a possibility."
