Biden Pushes Child Tax Credits At CEO Meeting

US

President Joe Biden is pushing the child tax credit provision hard in his meeting with private sector CEOs. Biden is hoping that support of the private sector can help exert pressure on his moderate senators to support Build Back Better.

Remarks from the public session of the meeting:

  • Biden: 'Inflation largely due to rise in costs of cars. This rise is due to global semiconductor chip shortage.'
  • Tim Linebarger (Cummins): 'Climate change existential crisis of our time. Private sector needs climate tax breaks.'
