Free AccessBiden's Covid Symptoms "Almost Completely Resolved"
President Biden's COVID-19 symptoms have "almost completely resolved" according to President Biden's physician Dr. Kevin O'Conner.
- In a White House statement, O'Conner writes: "His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal."
- The statement continues: "The President is responding to therapy as expected... and he will continue to isolate in accordance with CDC recommendations."
- Over the weekend there was some concern over the protocol if Biden's condition deteriorated or he showed signs of developing 'long Covid,' a heightened risk due to his age.
- White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha told CBS that if Biden developed 'long Covid' that could "interfere with his ability to carry out his duties, we will disclose that early and often with the American people."
- At 14:30 ET 19:30 BST: Biden will host a virtual meeting of CEOs and business stakeholders on the CHIPS Act, the ~USD$280 billion package for semiconductors and China competitiveness.
- The White House released an ICYMI (in case you missed it) from Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo earlier today revealing a lingering concern in the White House that the legislation may stumble at the final hurdle.
- Raimondo: "So the reality is, we need companies to expand in America, and- and other countries all around the world are providing incentives... France, Germany, Singapore, Japan, all of these other countries are providing incentives for CHIP companies to build there and we- frankly, we cannot afford that, we cannot afford to be in this vulnerable position. We need to be able to protect ourselves. This is a matter of national security."
