Biden-Working w/Congress To Invest USD40bn In Pacific Island Infra

Speaking at a meeting of Pacific Islands national leaders hosted at the White House, US President Joe Biden states that his administration is "working with Congress to invest USD40bn in Pacific Island infrastructure." Adds that the "US is committed to a free, open, prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific region." The prospect of a full USD40bn package of infrastructure projects being invested in the geographically vast region remains slim, though, given the difficulty the administration has in getting much more high-profile commitments, such as Ukraine aid, through Congress.
