Biden’s Plan On Reducing Inflation

US

A quick reminder that we flagged a WSJ piece by U.S. President Biden on his plan to bring down inflation earlier on our interactive chat service.

  • To recap, Biden noted that “the most important thing we can do now to transition from rapid recovery to stable, steady growth is to bring inflation down.”
  • Biden also noted that the U.S. must take "every practical step to make things more affordable for families...and to boost the productive capacity of the economy over time." This included an upgrade of infrastructure, lifting property building, lower drug prices, correcting disrupted supply chains and
a targeting of fees charged by foreign ocean-shipping companies.
  • Bidne also flagged a need to reduce the federal budget deficit.
  • Fed Chair Powell is set to meet with President Biden later on Tuesday (13:15 eastern).
