Germany’s Bnetza approved the construction of 1,400km of new power lines in Germany this year, which is a new record, it said on Friday. 

  • The total length of approved power lines is currently at 2,700km.
  • Bnetza plans to increase permits for new power grids to 4,400km by the end of 2025.
  • Germany plans to increase its power grid by 16,800km, including 9,600km of which Bnetza is responsible for the approval.
