BRAZIL: October Tax Collections, Petrobras Unveils Business Strategic Plan

- With the meeting on the spending cut plan that was originally scheduled for today to take place tomorrow instead, President Lula and Finance Minister Haddad will now reportedly meet with representatives of the retail and wholesale sectors this afternoon, while a National Monetary Council meeting involving Lula, Haddad and BCB Governor Campos Neto will be held at 1800GMT(1300ET).
- On the data front, tax collections figures for October will be published at 1330GMT(0830ET), with consensus for an increase to BRL 243.5bn last month. Meanwhile, Petrobras will unveil its strategic and business plan for 2025-2029 later, including the possibility of extraordinary dividends of $10bn. A press conference about the plan will be held tomorrow.

- In other news, President Lula reached an agreement with President Xi yesterday to increase cooperation with China to finance strategic infrastructure projects in Brazil. The two signed a total of 37 agreements, including deals to open new markets for Brazilian agricultural products.
