GILT SUMMARY

Following a weak start to the session, gilts rallied during the afternoon with the curve bull flattening.

  • Cash yields are broadly 1-2bp lower on the day with the curve 1-2bp steeper. Last yields: 2-year 0.0475%, 5-year 0.3325%, 10-year 0.785%, 30-year 1.2963%.
  • The Sep 21 gilt future has traded up to 127.31, 1 tick of the day's high.
  • Short sterling futures are flat/0.5 ticks higher in whites/reds and 0.5-2.5 ticks higher in greens/blues.
  • The DMO earlier sold GBP3bn of 1/3/6/-month bills.
  • Looking ahead, next week see the release of money supply and consumer credit data for April and final PMI prints for May.
