- Bus Climate Indicator (BCI): Bbg Cons: 106; Prev (Sep): 106
- Manufacturing Sentiment: Bbg Cons: 102; Prev (Sep): 102
- Mkts look for a steady readings of the French BCI and manuf sentiment.
- The BCI rose 1pt in Sep after having registered at 105 for two straight
months.
- Sep's uptick was led by an increase in retail trade (up 4pt to 104), services
(up 1pt to 106) and building construction (up 1pt to 112) confidence
- Meanwhile, manufacturing (-1pt to 102) and wholesale trade (-1pt to 105)
sentiment fell in Sep.
- The flash PMIs, due on Thursday, are forecast to edge up slightly in Oct, with
the manufacturing PMI being the only one among the big four member states to
remain above the 50-mark.
- However, indicators such as the ZEW and the Sentix suggest a deterioration in
sentiment for the Eurozone in Oct.
