LNG

The BW Singapore FSRU is departing Sicily's Fincantieri shipyard towards Cartagena in Spain to likely load cool-down volumes before starting operations as Italy’s sixth LNG import terminal, according to ICIS.

  • The floating LNG terminal arrived in Palermo in December from Dubai to undergo technical finishing operations, Snam previously said.
  • Italian gas network operator Snam previously said “the FSRU is expected to arrive in Ravenna in February for connection to the mooring deck” with “commissioning scheduled for early April 2025.”
  • The terminal will raise Italy’s LNG regasification capacity to 28bcm with two new FSRU import facilities since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, ICIS said.
