Canada Regulator Orders Trans Mountain to Address Deficiencies After Floods

The Canada Energy Regulator issued an order Feb. 8 requiring the TMX expansion to properly address environmental deficiencies and non-compliances after floods near British Colombia, according to XM.

  • The order was issued after investigators found that TMX was not properly maintaining a watercourse isolation, wildlife fencing, soil coverings, and dewatering pumps, the CER said.
  • The post did not mention the potential for further delays to the pipeline, which is to date expected to start in Q2.
