Candidate Boric Leads Runoff Polls, USDCLP Rises 0.5%

  • Cadem’s latest projection of the second round gives 54% to the candidate of the Broad Front vs. 46% that the candidate of the Republican Party would reach.
  • Gabriel Boric remains with 39% of the preferences for the second round, while José Antonio Kast falls 6 points to 33%. Those who would not vote, do not know or do not respond rose from 22% to 28%.

  • Additionally, via AmericaElige twitter page, the latest Activa/Pulso Ciudadano poll shows the following for the presidential run-off:
    • Boric (AD, left|green): 62%
    • J.A. Kast (FSC, right): 38%
    • Fieldwork: 23-26 November '21 -- Sample size: 1,518
  • On Sunday, the Christian Democratic Party said it will support Boric in the runoff, saying Kast is a “threat to the constituent process and a return to authoritarianism that goes against democratic advances.” (BBG)
  • Up today - 1330GMT/0830ET: A congressional commission in Chile resumes reviewing a bill that’d allow a new round of pension withdrawals.
