Castillo Advisers Describe Jobs Recovery As Paramount Issue

    • The advisers, ex-central bank chief Oscar Dancourt and former World Bank economist Pedro Francke added that the nation's inflation-targeting regime has served the country well and shouldn't be tampered with
    • In their interview they commented that the nation will have no difficulty whatsoever in paying its debts.
    • Both men are potential candidates to become senior policy makers if Castillo forms a government next month.
  • Separately, a judge in Lima rejected a request from prosecutors to send Peruvian presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori to jail for violation of bail conditions. (BBG)
    • Fujimori is accused of money laundering, though hasn't been convicted of anything.
    • The judge, Victor Zuniga, said she broke the terms of her bail by communicating with witnesses in the case. If she breaks bail terms again she'll face prison, he said.
