  • Peru central Bank left rates unchanged overnight at 0.25%. Policy makers maintained their forward guidance and reiterated they are committed to keeping expansionary monetary conditions for an extended period and will provide further accommodation if needed.
  • The statement had a less upbeat tone about the economic recovery and kept an explicitly dovish bias. This comes as huge swathes of the country have faced new lockdowns in late January and early Feb. The onset of a second wave of infections may be weighing on business sentiment, according to the central bank's January survey.
