Chevron Hopes To Double Venezuelan Oil Exports With Lake Maracaibo Clean Up

Chevron has been asking Venezuela to clean up Lake Maracaibo in the hope to raise crude exports from 250,000 barrels to 400,000 barrels according to people familiar with the matter.

  • If the lake is not dredged ships are risking of running aground because of an accumulation of sediment.
  • Earlier this month Chevron reported it is producing around 90kbpd of oil from its Venezuelan production.
