China Can Meet 5.5% Growth Target In 2022: Times

China is likely to achieve its annual growth target of 5.5%, or even higher, given its market potential and policies in place, the Securities Times reported citing Han Yongwen, deputy to the National People’s Congress. Despite inflationary pressure, the country's lower debt ratio and healthy financial system will help achieve a reasonable medium-to-high growth rate, the newspaper said citing Wang Yiming, member of the PBOC’s Monetary Policy Committee. Wang noted that the supply chain will face renewed pressure amid the rising global oil, non-ferrous metals and food prices, while the weakening of demand will continue to be constrained by the spread of Covid, the newspaper said.
