CHINA: China recently unveiled its first list for tariff exemptions on U.S.
goods which included lubricant based oil. The exemptions will take effect from
Sep 17 and China will keep reviewing applications for tariff exemptions going
forwards.
- China's Global Times has cited experts on the matter, who have suggested that
"the new exemption list for US imports is regarded as a goodwill gesture ahead
of a scheduled meeting between Chinese and US trade negotiators in early
October. It is another chance Beijing gives to Washington to end the trade war."
