China’s refined oil production in June is expected to rise both on the month and on the year, according to OilChem.
- An OilChem survey showed that seven refineries are expected to be overhauled in June, down nine compared to June 2023.
- The maintenance will involve a combined capacity of 48.5m mtpa in June, down 50.08% on the year.
- This would correspond to a 3.76m mt loss in throughput, down 47.74% on the year.
- Consequently, it is projected that Chinese refineries’ CDU capacity utilisation rates will rise in June, followed by a rebound in refined oil production.
