China Refined Oil Production to Rise in June

China’s refined oil production in June is expected to rise both on the month and on the year, according to OilChem.

  • An OilChem survey showed that seven refineries are expected to be overhauled in June, down nine compared to June 2023.
  • The maintenance will involve a combined capacity of 48.5m mtpa in June, down 50.08% on the year.
  • This would correspond to a 3.76m mt loss in throughput, down 47.74% on the year.
  • Consequently, it is projected that Chinese refineries’ CDU capacity utilisation rates will rise in June, followed by a rebound in refined oil production.
