CHINA: China will, as before, take "necessary countermeasures" to counter the
U.S. acceleration and upgrading of tariff sanctions, the Ministry of Commerce
said Wednesday.
--According to a statement on its website, the ministry said the U.S.
announcement that it will slap an additional 10% tariffs on $200 billion worth
of Chinese products was "completely unacceptable" and China felt "shocked".
--"Such irrational behaviour does not win any support," the ministry said;
- China called on other countries to work together to defend the free trade and
multilateral trade system, fighting against trade bullying, the ministry said;
- The U.S. is hurting China, the entire world and itself, the Commerce Ministry
stressed.
