OIL

CDU Capacity Utilisation rates at China’s state-owned refineries ae expected to continue falling in the week to May 16, according to OilChem, as Dushanzi petrochemical is due to begin maintenance.

  • Among independent refineries in China’s Shandong province, CDU capacity utilisation rates ae seen falling as some refineries have scheduled maintenance.
  • However, Shenchi Chemical in Shandong is likely to continue ramping up production after returning from an overhaul.
  • CDU capacity utilisation rates at domestic refineries in China averaged 69.08% last week, down 0.08 percentage points on the previous seven-day period.
  • China’s gasoline demand is likely to weaken in the coming days as petrol stations report flat sales and a preference to keep inventory levels low.
  • Gasoil demand has been lacklustre, with mid and downstream buyers remaining cautious, OilChem said.
