China’s LNG Prices Keep Momentum Despite Rising Imports

LNG

China’s LNG terminals received a total of 1.76m mt from 26 cargoes in the week to Dec. 7, up 17.5% on the previous seven days, according to OilChem.

  • During that period, imported LNG prices rose 6.8% on the week to 6,064 y/t.
  • OilChem said that some of the terminals have been holding onto supply to ensure ample upcoming inventories amid an extreme cold weather alert in Northern China.
  • A total of 22 cargoes are expected to arrive at 9 domestic LNG terminals in the week to Dec. 14, importing a total of 1.68m mt.
  • Terminals are expected to limit the natural gas supply released to keep stocks high. This is expected to support prices.
