China’s LNG Terminals Capacity Utilisation Falls

LNG

Rising feedgas prices are causing small scale domestic LNG producers in China to lower their utilisation rates, according to OilChem.

  • Utilisation rates at Chinese LNG liquefaction terminals averaged 60.52% in the week to October 12, down 2.94 percentage points on the week.
  • Rates have fallen since PetroChina raised feedgas auction prices, currently at 4,200-4320 y/t. This is expected to push utilisation rates lower still in the upcoming week, with OilChem forecasting 59.33%.
